Farolito Beg 4 class

‘Very intimate and personalised teaching’

Very intimate and personalised teaching, almost more like having your own language coach. All the teachers are very friendly, and it is heaps of fun learning together and making new friends.

Nicholas Lawton, Beginners 4

‘Learning at Farolito Spanish is fun and interactive’
‘Learning at Farolito Spanish is fun and interactive. Over the last year I have watched our group grow and evolve into more confident and fluent speakers. Learning as a group gives you the opportunity to recreate situations for real life dialogue.’

Kahn Gouton, Intermediate Student

‘Those six classes really made a world of difference in my travelling experience, as I was able to communicate with locals, most of whom really didn’t speak much/any English!’

‘Hola Eleanor!
I did the Spanish for Travellers class in May/June and have just returned from my holiday! I had an amazing time in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia and just wanted to say thank you for your help! Those six classes really made a world of difference in my travelling experience, as I was able to communicate with locals, most of whom really didn’t speak much/any English! Learnt heaps in my five weeks away as well and hope to continue learning more for my next trip! Absolutely loved South America and can’t wait to see more!! Thanks again!’
Emily, Spanish for Travellers

‘I couldn’t have passed my DELE exam without Farolito’s help’

‘I couldn’t have passed my DELE B2 exam without Farolito’s help. In the lead up to the exam we worked through every practice exam available, and once we’d finished those, Eleonor created her own practice examples. Each week I was challenged by the activities we worked through and I was always impressed with the amount of effort Eleonor put in to preparing each lesson. When I took my exam, I felt confident with the format, the requirements and my level of Spanish. I recommend her DELE preparation courses to everyone interested in taking a DELE exam!’

Tracy, DELE B2 level, currently preparing for her C1 exams.

‘I can recommend this excellent language school and its dedicated teachers’

I have learnt more of the customs and language of South America to add to my knowledge of Iberian Spanish. I have enjoyed the conversation workshops and the instuctores always offer intelligent topics and encouraged us with friendly help and always keen to help and praise. Farolito in South Yarra is a happy school and good value. I look forward to next year with much eagerness therefore I can recommend this excellent language school and its dedicated teachers to all who want to broaden their knowledge and love of all things Spanish with value for the price.

Sheila Mathews, Conversation workshops

‘I can’t believe how much I’ve learned in just 1 year!’

Farolito is the most amazing language school. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned in just 1 year! The classes are small and personal so you get enough individual attention and chance to practice. The best part was the teacher I had – Bea was so knowledgeable and helpful. A truly personal learning experience all around.

Sally, Beginners 4

‘The classes have the highest qualified teachers from Hispano-America and Spain and you receive different teaching styles as well as different accents and perspectives from different countries. I was lucky to choose the best school first and the dedication, expertise and hard work put in by Eleonor has made this the most successful school of Spanish.’

I’ve been attending Farolito Spanish School for eight years. In that time I’ve learnt to speak, read and write Spanish, learnt about Hispanic culture: Films, writers, history, advertising, job application and I found a new drink, Yerba Mate. The classes have the highest qualified teachers from Hispanoamericana and Spain and you receive different teaching styles as well as different accents and perspectives from different countries. I now skype fluently with friends in Spain and Hispanoamericana, have access to information that isn’t printed in English and an increased number of books and TV series I can choose from. I now draw cartoons in Spanish and I’m working on two cartoon books which I will publish. Learning Spanish with Farolito has also taught me more about the English language. I was lucky to choose the best school first and the dedication, expertise and hard work put in by Eleonor has made this the most successful school of Spanish.

‘I have really enjoyed many aspects about the Farolito way of teaching Spanish’

‘I have really enjoyed many aspects about the Farolito way of teaching Spanish, not the least of which is the innovative life experience practical exercises the teacher creates in order to better emphasise the learning experience.  For example, who could forget making a fruit salad and discussing in Spanish the ingredients and kitchen utensils used to do so’.

Stuart Ord, Director Healthy Parks Healthy People Strategy-Parks Victoria, Beginners 2

‘Farolito’s classes keep the language alive – and students stimulated! ‘
‘Eleonor is an inventive teacher, constantly referencing contemporary life, culture and politics, in order to keep the language alive – and her students stimulated! The classes frequently make me reflect on issues and concepts that broaden my experience of my own country.’

Ailsa Piper, Upper Intermediate Level (Author of Sinning Accross Spain)

‘I enjoy the balance of language skills provided, including conversation, grammar and listening skills’.

‘I started learning Spanish from scratch with Farolito and have really appreciated the chance to learn and practice Spanish in a non-confrontational small-group environment.  I enjoy the balance of language skills provided, including conversation, grammar and listening skills’.

Aaron Martin, Spanish Intermediate 2

‘Eleonor has the ability to clearly explain Spanish language concepts, while making classes really interesting’
‘Eleonor has the ability to clearly explain Spanish language concepts, while making classes really interesting by incorporating discussions and a wide range of activities centred on Spanish and Latin American culture, history and current affairs. Not being ‘a natural’ at languages, her endless encouragement and willingness to help me in areas that I find more difficult to grasp is invaluable.’

Kim Cowie, Upper Intermediate Level
